Marsh Warbler - Rainham Marshes RSPB

It's in there honest. I spent the best part of 2 hours this afternoon hearing but not seeing a Marsh Warbler. After an hour or so it started to sing but it remained in dense cover, frustratingly just 20 odd yards away. Also seen of note, 1 adult male Marsh Harrier and a heard only Grasshopper Warbler.

  1. Thinking of going in the morning although never been to the Marshes before. Is it best to go to the RSPB reserve or walk along the river front?

  2. Either, if you are there for a day out you may as well park at the centre and walk along the sea wall (20 mins). If popping in, park at the small car at the west end accessed off Coldharbour Lane, about a a mile from after turning left off Ferry Lane (which in turn is off the A13). It's still there today. Good luck.
